It seems that most people I have talked to either love, or hate their company's website. In fact, let's make that a poll for this blog post (click here --> Poll). In the land of Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft, they don't really care what you personally think of your website, what matters to them is what "they" think of it. This concept is particularly difficult for company owners, and website designers to digest, as many of them are personally invested in their site. Any criticism levied could result in a CLM! (That's an old school term for "career limiting move")
So here in the IMS team, we decided it was time to develop an impartial tool exclusively for the Glass and Collision industries to "score" their website.
To find out your score, go to http://www.scoremywebsite.com/ and follow the few simple steps, and in about a minute, you will receive your website score!
So what does your score mean?
When you enter in your URL, we run over 100 processes against your website and look at it in a similar way that Google, Yahoo, or other search engines would. The difference between our tool and any other tool on the planet is that ours is fine tuned specifically for your industry! We actually measure your site using industry specific information and compare you to your competition.
This follows the analogy of the two men that were out in the forest and ran across a Grizzly bear with an attitude. One of the guys (We'll call him Alan) leaned down to quickly tie his shoe, and the other guy (let's call him Scott) said, "Hey...why are you tying your shoe? You can't outrun a bear!" Alan smiled and said, "I don't have to outrun the bear...I just need to outrun you." And so it is with your website! You don't have to be better than Amazon, eBay, Lowes, Zappos or other massive retail sites; you just have to be better than the other sites you are competing against!
So how did you score?
While your aim is to score 100, the best sites in flat glass and collision score above 60 points, and the best in auto glass score above 70. If you are scoring significantly below that...contact a member of the IMS team, and find out what you can do to improve your score!
